The Father's Encouragement

Below is something the Lord so gently spoke to my heart recently. May it encourage you on your journey, too.

Dear child, don’t despise the small moments of obedience and faithfulness. Society has taught you to look for the big wins and moments of significance based on their standards, but this is not what I’m looking for. This is not what I see. I’ve seen your faithfulness to steward the little that I’ve placed in your hand. I’ve seen your commitment to the place of prayer. I’ve watched your, often pain-filled, yes’s and no’s as you’ve learned persecution and patience as a part of the commitment to the Gospel. I’ve observed as you’ve waited and longed for something different but refused to allow that desire to distract you from the things I’ve given you to steward now. I’ve seen you hold your standard and remain in me despite grieving the plans you once made and the dreams you once dreamt.

But here’s the reality, you’ve read it time and time again, but I don’t think it has clicked for you just yet. But trust me, I will be faithful to this word…

Those whom I can trust with my little can and will be trusted with my much.

The plans I have for you are beautiful and so full of life.

Do you think David could’ve known what his yes to his father’s request to take some snacks to his brothers and their commanders could’ve meant for him? (1 Sam. 17: 17) Simple obedience is the open the door to your destiny. It always has been, and it always will be.

I’m not one to withhold, but I am one to operate in a timing that only I understand. You are not less than because of your commitment to this season. You are not incapable of the dreams you’ve dreamt because of what you’ve seen as a delay. You are simply stewarding a heart of faithfulness that I can trust and bless with more than you’ve ever dreamed or imagined.

Slow down. Breathe deep. You’ve only just begun. Your obedience is your door. Your faithfulness is the frame that holds this door in place. Keep trusting me.
